Today our graduate student Andrei Sayansky successfully defended his PhD thesis "Excitation of coupled modes of elements of periodic structures in the microwave range."
In his work, he experimentally demonstrated new mechanisms of the concentration of electric and magnetic fields in periodic structures, as well as methods for controlling the field of the transmitted wave, which can be used in quasi-optical microwave and optical devices.
Andrey plans to supervise the anechoic chamber of our department, work on commercial projects and continue his research.
